Open Studio

Monthly Membership Policy

Effective March 1st, 2024

 

  • All members must be 18 years of age or older; no exceptions.

  • Memberships do not include instruction from staff or fellow members. Each member must have completed at least one in-person multi-week course at the Studio or have prior experience approved by the Studio manager. 

  • It is the responsibility of each member to read and abide by the Cariku Studio policies.​

  • Members can use their work sessions during our Open Studio Hours: Monday to Saturday from 12-5 pm.

  • The Studio hosts classes, workshops, and courses during Open Studio Hours. Each member is required to be silent in the presence of any classes, workshops, or courses. The Studio reserves the right to revoke membership privileges of any member who cannot abide by this requirement.

  • The Studio reserves the right to revoke membership privileges if any member fails to abide by these requirements.

 

$100 includes 8 work sessions per month:

  • Unused work sessions do not roll over to the following month; there are no exceptions.

  • Payment can be made during Shop Hours between the 1st and 7th of each month.

  • Studio equipment, dipping glazes, and firing services are included for up to 20 pots per month. 

  • Monthly Membership does not include anything made outside the Studio.

  • Personal clay, glazes, tools, ect. need to be taken home at the end of each work session.

Shelving: 

  • Members should store their greenware on the work-in-progress shelving for up to one month. 

  • A post-it note to display the name & date must be on the outside of plastic. 

  • Shelving is communal and emptied each month. 

  • Any dried-out, forgotten, or old greenware will be tossed at the beginning of each month. 

 

Bisqueware shelving: 

  • Members will find their bisqueware on the bisqueware shelving at the studio's front.

  • Members can store their bisqueware for up to 2 months from when it was unloaded from the bisque firing. 

  • Shelving is communal and emptied each month. 

  • Any bisqueware that is older than 2 months will be tossed; no exceptions.

 

Finished Projects: 

  • Members will find their glaze fired pottery and artwork on the finished projects shelving; located at the front of the Studio. 

  • Members can store their finished projects for up to 2 months. 

  • Shelving is communal and emptied each month. 

  • Forgotten glazed ware will be donated after 2 months.

 

Cancellation or Adjustment: 

  • Please give the Studio Manager at least two weeks' notice of membership cancellation or adjustment.

  • Any greenware or glazed ware that still needs to be fired can be put on the appropriate cart and will be fired for you; pick it up two weeks later. 

 

The Studio reserves the right to edit, adjust and/or update these policies at any time and without notice.
