Service Description
Create a powerful, expressive human sculpture, built entirely from clay slabs! At Cariku Art Lab, this immersive hand-building course guides students through the sculptural process of creating a hollow human head and torso using patterns, slabs, and slow-build techniques. Unlike solid sculpting, this method allows students to shape form from the inside out, giving the piece both strength and lightness while encouraging bold, expressive design. This class includes 4 complimentary Open Studio sessions. Students enrolled in a 4-week class at Cariku Art Lab receive four complimentary Open Studio sessions during their class term. How it works Open Studio sessions must be booked online A class-specific access code is provided after enrollment Each code allows up to four bookings Students must be logged into their Wix account to use the code Important policies Open Studio sessions must be booked at least 24 hours in advance Sessions must be used within the class dates Missed or canceled sessions count toward the four included visits Codes are non-transferable and may not be shared Open Studio availability is limited and subject to capacity.

Cancellation Policy
Registration & Payment Full payment is required to reserve your spot. Class fees are non-refundable. Payment plans may be available. Cancellations More than 7 days before class: studio credit may be issued. Within 7 days: no credits unless we fill your space. Missed classes are not refunded. Attendance Please arrive on time; each week builds on the previous one. If you must miss a class, email the studio in advance. Materials Clay and tools are included for one sculpture. Extra clay may be purchased at the studio. Studio Conduct Respect the space, tools, and other students. Clean your area before leaving. Follow all safety instructions. Construction & Firing This course uses slab-building techniques (no armatures). Firing is included for one completed piece. Kiln schedules are determined by the studio. Cracks or firing issues may happen, Cariku is not responsible for damage. Pick-Up You will be notified when your piece is ready. Please pick it up within 30 days.
