CLASS POLICIES AND REFUNDS

Registration & Payment

  • Full payment due at registration to secure your spot—spaces are limited.

Attendance & Make‑Ups

  • Please try to attend all sessions. Make‑ups are not guaranteed for missed classes due to personal reasons.

  • If we cancel a session (e.g. weather or instructor emergency), you will receive a make‑up class or studio credit.

Conduct & Studio Use

  • Show respect to instructors, peers, and studio spaces.

  • Use equipment responsibly; damage caused by misuse may incur replacement or repair costs.

Finished Work Pickup

  • You’ll be notified when your pieces are ready—please collect them within 30 days.

  • After 30 days, unclaimed work will be considered studio property due to storage limits.

 

REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY

Student Cancellations

  • 7+ days before class: Full refund or credit toward a future class.

  • 3–6 days before class: 50% refund or full studio credit.

  • Less than 72 hours before class: No refund or credit.

  • If the Student cancels class after the class has started, the student is not entitled to a refund.
     

Last‑Minute Transfer Fee Policy

  • For specialty workshops or private lessons, if the student cancels and the spot is filled by someone else, the student may opt for a refund minus a $75 administrative fee. 
     

Studio-Initiated Cancellations

  • If Cariku cancels a class before the class has started, the student is entitled to a full refund, the option to reschedule, or receive gallery credit.

ADDITIONAL NOTES
 

  • All materials, clay, glazes, firings, are included unless otherwise noted.

  • To support a focused and consistent studio experience, we ask that all new students arrive with their own basic sculpting tools or plan to purchase a starter tool kit at Cariku Art Lab. Limited shared tools are available when needed, and we are always happy to help guide you in selecting the right tools.

  • Wear comfortable clothing and shoes that can get messy.

  • Bring your tools if you have them, we can provide basic tools and additional starter kits for sale at the Studio.

  • We foster a welcoming, inclusive creative community, thank you for being a part of Cariku Art Lab!

Release of Liability

Cariku Art Lab Student

Any member, guest, or other people who in any manner makes use of or accepts the use of any apparatus, equipment, facility privilege, or service of Cariku Art Lab Studio, or who engages in any other activity operated, organized, arranged, or sponsored by Cariku Art Lab Studio, either on or off (137 Broadway St. Black Mountain, NC 28711) the Cariku Art Lab Studio, premises, shall do so at their own risk. Any member, guest, or other people shall not hold the owners and their directors, employees, or representatives liable for any loss, cost, claim, injury, damage, and liability, sustained and/or resulting from any action or failure to act in compliance with Cariku Art Lab Studio Rules and Etiquette, and /or studio guidelines stated by any director, employee, or representative or agent of the owner. Owner, director, employee, representative or agent of the owner shall not be responsible or liable to any member or guest for lost or stolen articles. Any property left by any person on the premises, without provision for its storage, may be disposed of or sold by management without notice. Cariku Art Lab Studio has the right to refuse service.
